HAILEY IRWIN
Born and raised in San Diego, I am an actor, writer, director, and creative currently based in Brooklyn. I am currently pursuing my BFA in Drama at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts (Atlantic Acting Studio, The Classical Studio), with a minor in Producing. ​I was selected to study at the Producing in London program this past summer and am currently writing an honors thesis in the Theater Studies department under the advisement of Dr.Carol Martin. I graduate in the spring of 2026.
I have a deep passion for the exchange of energy between artist and live audience. A mission to tell stories with truth and honesty lies at the core of my artistic practice. I approach each role with curiosity and commitment, living authentically in each moment with my scene partners. Whether I am tackling classical or contemporary text, my focus is always on bringing heart, specificity, and radical presence to my performances.

Beyond drama, I am also an improviser and sketch writer. I am the president of NYU's premier long-form improv team, Dangerbox (notable alumni include Bowen Yang, Chloe Troast, Donald Glover, and Martin Herlihy), and executive producer of the sketch comedy team, Comic Sans. I have performed at various comedy theaters in NYC, including Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) and The People's Improv Theater (PIT). I have been selected to perform at collegiate improv festivals around the country. My improv background has become a foundational part of how I approach all of my creative work.

My artistry is multifaceted. Whether I'm writing, directing, improvising, acting, producing, or even designing, I take on every creative endeavour with determination and care. At my core, I am a storyteller through and through. ​I am a passionate performer and person who believes in the power of performance to build community; uplifting queer, female, and nonbinary voices is an essential part of my work.
